Poetry Competition 2008
Our poetry competition is an annual event where by the whole school learns a poem of their choice to recite for their Pack or House. Each Pack selects a winner in each age group to represent them in the final competition. This year's Poetry Competion was won by Bosbury.

Developments in Drama
In September 2008 we are hoping to offer individual speech and drama lessons as an extra leading towards public LAMDA examinations.
Drama and Dance
It has been said that "There is no greater team game than putting on a school production".
The children have the opportunity to perform in at least one major stage production appropriate to their age group each year.
We have an excellent dance and drama studio, and visiting dance teachers provide lessons in ballet and modern dance, and also choreograph our productions.
As well as performing, there are roles for lighting and sound technicians, musicians, costume makers, front of house staff and make-up artists, all of which brings the school community of pupils, staff and parents together for the final production.

The Kindergarten's Nativity Play
Tuesday 4th December 2007 at 11.00am
Kindergarten delighted audiences with their improvised dramatisation of the Christmas Story. The performances were followed by coffee and mince pies for all proud parents.
Pre Prep production:
'The Bethlehem Bootie Company'
Thursday 6th December 2007 at 2.00pm
The Pre Prep amazed us yet again with their musical version of the nativity story. Afternoon tea followed the performance whilst parents waited for their mini thespians to change.
Prep School production:
'The Wizard of Oz'
Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th April 2008 at 7.00pm
Almost the whole prep school is involved in some way or another with this extravaganza of a musical supported by a live band of jolly musicians. For tickets please contact the school office kjr@thedowns.malcol.org.
